We were told by people at our hotel not to go near Khao San Rd during songkran.... due to the water throwing part of the festival.... as it was too crowded, out of control and dangerous! So we took to first tuk tuk we could to the top of khao san road and proceeded to bust our way through the thousands of people chucking water and wiping talcum powder goop....stopping only the way to marvel at how gorgeous some of the girly boys were! We emerged at the other end about an hour later as different people! Speechless, saturated from head to toe, dazed and confused. It was crazy! Later on back at the hotel we read in the paper that the Government had issued a warning of a severe terrorit attack and had urged people against going to Khao San rd. shiver me timbers. Paul was later crowned Miss Songkran 2006, at the beauty contest. Woot!
