Penang, Day 169

After a long bus trip we made it to Penang, and the Eastern and Oriental Hotel. Set in an old colonial setting, this is just what we need to wind down.

This will probably be the last entry i make, as we fly out to Sydney tomorrow.

It was fun while it lasted. Maybe i'll continue onto a different blog, depending on how interesting our lives are.

Actually, i might do one more entry to summarise the 6months of travel, later when i have more time...

Krabi

Alright, we took a ferry this morning from Ko Phi Phi to Krabi which took 2 hours. Not much else to say, other than we're taking a bus tomorrow morning to Panang (Malaysia). We're used to 8 hour trips now, so it won't be a problem. Panang will be our last destination before flying back to Sydney on Thursday.

A movie called Dark Harvest was playing the other night on the movie channel. If you've seen it, then you know what a traversty to the kids-stuck-on-a-farm-and-terrorised-by-demon-scarecrow genre this movie is. I give it 2 thumbs down. In fact, if i see the director of this movie walking down the street, i'm going to push him over.

Pics and Bob Marley

As you probably know if you've read this blog before, i've been having my own personal battle with Bob Marley. I can hear the fucker right now. Blows will rain down upon Bob-Marley-CD-owner before long. To drown out the noise, I've screwed up some old cardboard I paid a Thai street urchin for, and stuck it in my ears . I think i paid him tuppence. Or maybe thrupence at most. They accept old english currency here for some reason.

This is the bus we took from the Cambodian border to Bangkok. Its not going. I think its because they were playing Bob Marley and the bus decided to shit itself. Or maybe it was when i ran up front and did a flying kick into the stereo. Issues.

This is a palace or something in Bangkok. Bob Marley shot the sheriff here. Or not as the case may be.

This is the view from our hotel in Ko Samui, when we were trapped for days. We can see in this pic, the mangy dog is actually more helpful than the Thai army. I think they were listening to Bob Marley.

Koh Phi Phi: where we are now. They play lots of Bob Marley.

Thats all for now, as i can't stand to listen to you know who any more...

Ko Phi Phi II

Only a week to go....seems like weve been doing this for ages, oh thats right, we have.

Weather still warm, raining occasionally. Bob Marley is still playing at every goddam place we pass. At one particular place, which was completely empty of patrons, Tham yells out "Hey, if you didnt play Bob Marley all the bloody time, you might get some effing customers'. They didn't respond.
Rant Off.

I jumped off a big rock today. It was good. I don't think Poseidon liked what i was doing because shortly after the jump i swam into a jellyfish and got stung on my face. Then in the afternoon i ate some of the hottest (spicey) food possible. It was so hot that when i smeared some of the food onto my nose, it was burning. Damn local food. Wisely Tham chose not to jump from the rock or eat the plasma like curry.
